P20 Mold Steel Forging Overview

AISI P20 is a low-alloy plastic mold steel commonly supplied in a pre-hardened condition. It provides a practical combination of machinability, toughness, polishability and dimensional stability for mold and tooling applications.

The pre-hardened delivery condition can reduce or eliminate additional hardening after rough machining. P20 is commonly used for injection molds, blow molds, extrusion dies, mold bases, mold holders and other medium-duty tooling components.

We supply custom P20 mold steel forgings in the form of blocks, flat bars, round bars, mold blanks and other drawing-based components. Production requirements are reviewed according to dimensions, unit weight, machining allowance, delivery hardness, surface requirements, testing scope and documentation requirements.
