1045 Steel Forging Overview

AISI 1045 is a medium-carbon steel offering a practical combination of strength, hardness, wear resistance and machinability. Its higher carbon content provides greater strength and hardness than lower-carbon grades while remaining suitable for conventional forging and machining processes.

1045 steel can be supplied in the as-forged, annealed, normalized or quenched-and-tempered condition according to the required mechanical properties and component size. It is commonly used for shafts, pins, gears, rollers, spindles and general machinery components.

We supply custom 1045 steel forgings in the form of shafts, bars, blocks, discs and other drawing-based components. Production requirements are reviewed according to dimensions, unit weight, machining allowance, heat-treatment condition, mechanical properties, testing scope and documentation requirements.
