MATERIAL OVERVIEW

18CrNiMo7-6 Steel Forging Overview

18CrNiMo7-6 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum case-hardening steel designed for highly loaded components requiring high core strength, toughness and a hard, wear-resistant carburized surface.

The grade is designated as material number 1.6587 and is specified in the EN case-hardening steel system. It is widely used for large gears, pinions, transmission shafts and other components subjected to repeated contact loads and demanding service conditions.

We supply custom 18CrNiMo7-6 steel forgings according to customer drawings and technical specifications. Production requirements are reviewed according to forging dimensions, unit weight, machining allowance, carburizing requirements, testing scope and documentation requirements.
