8620 Steel Forging Overview

AISI 8620 is a low-carbon nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy steel commonly selected for carburized components requiring a wear-resistant surface and a tough, load-bearing core.

The material is frequently used for gears, pinions, shafts, bushings and other components exposed to repeated contact, impact and fatigue loading. Its final performance depends on section size, carburizing depth, quenching, tempering and the specified mechanical-property requirements.
