P20 mold steel is a pre-hardened plastic mold steel. Our P20 mold steel has good machinability and polishability. P20 mold steel is suitable for medium to large precision molds.

P20 Mold Steel Key Features：

Pre-hardened: Typically supplied directly with a hardness of approximately 300 HBW (30 HRC), requiring no further work hardening.
Machinability: Excellent. Possesses good machinability, polishing performance, and EDM performance. Can be cold-worked directly in the pre-hardened state without secondary heat treatment, shortening lead time. A mirror finish can be achieved after polishing (surface roughness Ra below 0.05μm), and photo-etching is supported.
Polishing performance: Excellent, achieving the high-quality surface finish required for molds.
High strength and good toughness: Tensile strength 1000-1200 MPa, yield strength 800-1000 MPa, elongation 12-18%, impact toughness 50-70 J/cm², moderate wear resistance, moderate corrosion resistance, hardness uniformity error not exceeding ±3HRC, ensuring dimensional stability during machining.
Heat Treatment and Strengthening: Pre-hardened P20 steel is not suitable for quenching, but surface nitriding can improve wear and corrosion resistance, achieving a surface hardness of 57-60 HRC (650-700 HV) and a mold life exceeding 1 million cycles. Nitriding improves demolding performance, with a typical life of 500,000 cycles.
Dimensional Stability: Excellent. P20 steel exhibits minimal dimensional deformation during machining.
Weldability: Moderate. Can be welded using specialized P20 welding wire.
Surface Finishes: Ideal for texturing (photolithography) and electrical discharge machining (EDM).

Open Die Forging & Ring Rolling Forging

We possess multiple free forging machines and ring rolling machines. Our free forging machines includes a 1-ton air hammer, a 2-ton hydraulic hammer, a 5-ton hydraulic forging machine, a 3500-ton hydraulic forging machine, and multiple ring rolling machines.

Our custom forged parts can weigh up to 20,000 kg and have a maximum length of 20 m. The outer diameter of the forged rings can reach 4.5 m.
