17CrNiMo6 Forged Steel Features

17CrNiMo6 steel is an alloy steel designated by the German DIN 17210 standard. Our 17CrNiMo6 steel forgings offer high hardenability, excellent toughness, high tensile strength, superior wear resistance, and high core toughness.

  • High hardenability:

17CrNiMo6 alloy steel forgings with cross-sectional dimensions ≤300mm can be fully hardened to achieve a uniform martensitic structure.

  • High fatigue resistance:

After surface carburizing and heat treatment, 17CrNiMo6 alloy steel forgings retain a tough core and achieve a surface hardness of HRC 58~62. Their contact fatigue life is 2~3 times longer than that of ordinary steel.

  • Good Low-temperature toughness:

17CrNiMo6 alloy steel forgings maintain good impact toughness (AKV≥35J) even at -40℃.

  • High resistance to temper brittleness:

Molybdenum effectively suppresses temper brittleness, making 7CrNiMo6 alloy steel forgings suitable blank materials for steel parts operating at 200–400℃ for extended periods.

  • High Strength & Hardness:

Through carburizing and heat treatment, 17CrNiMo6 forged steel attains a highly hardened, wear-resistant surface (HRC 60-63) and a robust, ductile core (tensile strength 900-1300 MPa).

  • High flexural strength

  • Good Machinability:

Our custom forged parts can weigh up to 20,000 kg and have a maximum length of 20 m. The outer diameter of the forged rings can reach 4.5 m.
