40Cr steel forgings are a low alloy steel containing chromium and molybdenum. 4140 steel forgings are the most widely used alloy for oilfield applications. Quenching and tempering to adjust T is typically available in sections up to 100 mm, with tensile strengths ranging from 850 – 1000 MPa and this strength range for larger sections. 4140 steel forgings offer a very good balance of strength, toughness and wear resistance. 4140 forged steel are mainly used to manufacture axles, conveyor components, crowbars, gears, logging components, spindles, shafts, pump shafts, sprockets, studs, pinions, plungers, ring gears.
